"unfinished symphony"

48"x24" oil-on-canvas

January 2001

This work was painted while having one of the most coveted exciting jobs one can imagine in the early days of digital art in New York City as Art Director in charge of "creative storytelling" at the Wall Street Journal Online (WSJ.com), The World Financial Center, pre 9-11

Digitally immersed online by day, I would return home to my studio at night in downtown Manhattan and remember my heritage - This work is an homage to the craft of drawing, painting, and writing: The No. 2 Pencil complete with eraser 'backpack of our childhood' painted while listening to "The Unfinished Symphony" by Franz Schubert.

purchased by major collectors in 2018; shown here in her new home in Chelsea, NY
